Increased federal funding can boost the number of residency positions
On March 18, Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) introduced the Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2021. This bill has not received the attention nor the fanfare of other pieces of legislation like the infrastructure deal, and whether it even has a path forward remains to be seen.
